I began
playing "drums" with pencils on coffee cans while I was still in diapers. Unfortunately, that was only
five years ago!! Just kidding! I've always been tapping on things. The drummer who was the greatest influence on me
was Ringo Starr, of the Beatles. I first saw Ringo play on the "Ed Sullivan Show" when I was 9 years old. I knew then I wanted
to play drums in a band.
This was followed by membership in Shiloh, Country Sunshine, Act Three, Polaris, Orion,
Bement Country Opry gigs, Susan Williams & the Midnight Rider Band and now with both Back Paiges (classic rock) and Silver
Wings (country & oldies) bands.
I'm having a great time playing with good musicians,
as well as good people. I guess the money is nice, but it is hard to put a price
on all the friendships, experiences, and the good times I've had playing music.
My long-term
goal is to learn to play another instrument, perhaps the zither, autoharp, harpsichord, recorder or the illudium Q-36 explosive
space modulator.
